Happy New Year!

The start of a new year usually involves resolutions and fresh starts, and here at Sahtu Press, we’ve taken that to heart. If you’ve visited our site recently, you might have noticed things look a little different. We’ve spent the last few weeks "reorganizing the warehouse" (both literally and digitally) to make it easier for you to find the stories you’re looking for.

Growing the Collection

We are starting the year with a major milestone. Our latest children’s book has just arrived from the printer and is officially available for preorder.

This brings our catalog to five titles still left in he stock pile. Each one represents another voice added to the growing body of Lao American literature. Being dedicated to this mission is, more than anything, a profound honor. We aren't just selling books; we are building a library for a community that has long deserved to see itself in print.

Now Shipping: Start Your 2026 Reading List

For those looking to fill their shelves right now, we have four titles in stock and ready to ship immediately:

Whether you are an educator looking for authentic cultural resources or a parent wanting your children to see their heritage reflected on the page, these stories are ready for you.

Beyond the Bookshelf: Building Better Stories

Sahtu Press is evolving. In 2026, we are looking beyond just the finished product. We are currently developing tools and resources designed to help aspiring children’s book authors polish their manuscripts before they ever hit a "submit" button.

Our philosophy is simple: We don’t just publish your book. We make your book worth publishing. By helping authors prepare, we raise the bar for the entire genre. If a manuscript fits our specific niche of Lao American stories, we may discuss publishing it—but our ultimate goal is to ensure these stories are told with the quality and care they deserve.

Still in development but ready for you to try out, head on over to storyboon.com. This is for those who don’t mind helping with beta software and give feedback. We are looking to launch publicly later this year. Your input is greatly appreciated.

A Cultural Necessity

The reality is that preserving and promoting Lao American literature isn’t about chasing mass-market trends. It’s a cultural necessity. We’ve embraced that, and we’ve built a sustainable model around the idea that our stories deserve a permanent place on the shelf. Every book purchase, every share, and every preorder helps us prove that these stories matter.

Thank you for being part of this journey. Here’s to a productive, story-filled 2026.
